Oakland-Adoree Ann Collier Leighton, of Oakland, ME, died Thursday, April, 16, 2015, at Inland Hospital surrounded by her family following a brief illness. She was born in Oakland, ME on March 25, 1939 daughter of the late Victor "Ted" and Glen Doris Collier. She graduated in 1958 from Williams High School. She married George Leighton in 1960 and they would have been married 55 years July 30th of this year. She was a stay at home mom and later employed with the Registry of Deeds in Augusta, ME until retiring in 1997. She is survived by her husband, George of Oakland, ME; daughter and husband Jody and Steve Knox of Sidney, ME, son and wife Todd and Doreen of Oakland, ME, daughter Kathy and Todd LaPlante of Belgrade, ME and son and wife Toby and Melissa of Oakland, ME; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild with another due in September; brothers and wives, Dale and Bernie, Raymond "Buddy" and Elaine and David and Bonnie all of Oakland, ME. She loved spending time with her family and summers at camp. After retiring they enjoyed traveling around the US in their motor home. A celebration of life will be held at 4:00 pm Wednesday, April 22, at the Oakland American Legion Hall. A private burial will be held at a later date.
