Alfreda Therese Tardiff, T.O. Carm. Obituary (1923 - 2013)

SACO, MAINE--Alfreda Therese Tardiff, T.O. Carm., 89, a former resident of Fairfield, Maine, died peacefully and surrounded by loving family on Thursday, January 10, 2013. She was born August 26, 1923 in Clinton, Maine, the daughter of Frederick and Anna (Cyr) Tardiff. She attended grades 9-11 at Cony High School in Augusta, Maine, graduating from Clinton High School at the end of her senior year. She was a long time resident of Miami and Naples, FL where she was employed by AT&T and later Bell South in the accounting department. In 1997 she moved to Youville Place Assisted Living in Lexington, MA. In May of 2012, she moved to Seal Rock Skilled Care in Saco, Maine. She was an involved member of the Carmelite Third Order. She was a very active member of her church, teaching religious education for many years. Her beloved dog, Mitzy, was a source of companionship, comfort, and joy to her throughout the years. She was predeceased by her parents; as well as her four sisters, Loretta Robbins, Jeanine Blais, Pauline Cloutier and Theda Talbot; and two brothers, Corporal Gerard Tardiff and Norman Tardiff. She is survived by three sisters, Althea Noel of Waterville, Maine, Sister Anne S. Tardiff, CSC, of Alexandria, VA, and, Sister Doris Tardiff, SGM, of Lexington MA; one brother in-law, Eugene Robbins; one sister in-law, Julie Donahue of Benton, Maine; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 18, at Notre Dame Church on Silver Street in Waterville, Maine. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery in Waterville, Maine. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to Sisters of Charity, Grey Nuns, 10 Pelham Road, Lexington, MA 02421.
