WINDSOR, MAINE--Barbara Ann (Rideout) Sproul, 62, of Windsor, Maine, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 17, 2014. She was born in Gardiner, Maine on February 11, 1952, the daughter of Lauren and Annie (Clark) Rideout and the youngest of ten children. She was employed by Statler Tissue for many years; she also enjoyed working as a TV hostess at Augusta General. On June 16, 1974, she married the love of her life and soul mate, William Roy Sproul Sr., and together for 40 years they built a strong, loving family, and home, where their love was unconditional and endless. She took great pride in her children and grandchildren, enjoying many meals at her home filled with laughter and love, attending their many sporting events and accomplishments. She had a love for sewing, knitting, cooking, dancing and spending time with her husband at the casino. She loved a good lawn sale and appreciated picking bottles with her best friend and sister. Through the years she enjoyed spending time with all her family and watching their families grow, and had a special place in her heart for Marina Chase and her family. She was predeceased by her parents, Lauren and Annie (Clark) Rideout; her father and mother in-law, Richard and Vivian Sproul; and her brothers-in-law, Lloyd "Bucky” French and Clayton Worthing. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, William Roy Sproul Sr.; her daughter, Melissa O'Connor and her spouse, George S. of Augusta, Maine; her son, William Roy Sproul Jr. and his spouse, Hilary of Chelsea, Maine; her grandchildren, Kayla, Tyler, and Bret Sproul and Devon, Bridget, and Brady O'Connor; her nine siblings, Kenny Rideout and his spouse, Priscilla of Sidney, Maine, Lena Worthing of Windsor, Maine, Evelyn French of Somerville, Maine, Dot Moulton and her spouse, Andy of Pittston, Maine, Katherine Lawrence and her spouse, Claustin of Sidney, Maine, Annie Trask of Augusta, Maine, Irene Rideout of Augusta, Maine, Ralph Rideout and his spouse, Carol of Liberty, Maine, and Ramona Dean and her spouse, Joe of Florida; her brothers in-law, Richard Sproul and his spouse, Jeannie of Jay, Maine, and Albert Sproul of New York; her sister-in-law, Mada Bailey and her spouse, Rod of Jefferson, Maine; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and beloved friends. Visiting hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 22 at Lawry Brothers Funeral Home-Gray Chapel, 207 Windsor Neck Rd., Windsor, Maine, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 23. Graveside services will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery, Windsor, Maine. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Ramon Chelluitte, MD for his wonderful care and compassion for many years.
