Benoit Caron 1932 - 2016

Winslow - Benoit Caron, 84, of Winslow, ME passed away peacefully Dec 12th 2016 at Lakewood Manor. He was a well-known businessman who immigrated to Maine in 1953 with his bride Rosa now deceased.

He owned and operated Caron’s Restaurant with his brother Real, now deceased. In 1960 he owned and operated Gerard’s Restaurant in Waterville until 1973. In 1974 he purchased and operated “It’s A Good Pizza” in Winslow until 1990 when he retired.

He was an avid pool player and an Elks member. He loved to walk around town and greet the public just like he did with his customers.

He is survived by a brother Germaine Caron from St. Georges, Canada; four children: his daughter Lise Hawk and her husband Robert Hawk from Vassalboro; his son Carroll Caron from Waterville; his daughter Pauline Magaw and her husband Patrick Magaw from Waterville; and her twin, Paul Caron and his wife Taunya Caron from Waterville; as well as eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

There will be a grave side memorial in the spring. There will also be a celebration of his life on Saturday January 21, 2017 at the Waterville Elks Lodge at 1:00 PM. Our dearest Ben is now at peace, went to heaven last night in his somber sleep, He's now with his true love, whom he met years ago… together in heaven their love still grows. In all of our hearts he will remain, from his laughter and smiles... to his cute little grins, he was always a character who made many friends, Always joking around and lending a hand. He loved his walks and his game of pool, he even let us win a game or two. We will always remember him for the way he was, And will keep those memories filled with our love. By Taunya Caron
