Waterville--Bernice C. Goldrup, 87, passed to our Lord and Savior, Wednesday, October 13, 2010 in the comfort of her home with her two daughters by her side. She was born in Van Buren on March 2, 1923 a daughter of Patrick and Marie (Dube) Cyr.

On April 6, 1942, she married the love of her life Elmer G. Goldrup. They had one son and two daughters. She enjoyed crocheting, eating out, shopping and laughing with family and friends. She was considered a “second” mother to her two daughters’ friends. Her daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and special friends will miss her warm smile and her hugs and kisses more than words can express.

Bernice was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Elmer, of thirty-one years, her son, Harold, and five brothers and two sisters, Hector, Andre, Lawrence, Martin, Edgar, Alexandria and Aurore.

She is survived by her two daughters, Patricia Goldrup of Buxton, and Ann Goldrup of Waterville; five grandchildren, Christopher and his wife Beverly of California; James and his wife Erika and great-grandson James, Jr. of Florida; Mary and her husband Jon Leeke of Portland; Michael and his wife Suhail and great-granddaughter Hallee Elizabeth of Connecticut; Jeff and Sara Alderson of Massachusetts; a daugher-in-law Linda Goldrup of Waterville; a brother Gerald Cyr of Scarborough; two sisters Kathleen Garon of Colorado and Janet Verrier and her husband Raymond of Fairfield; several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 16, 2010 at Notre Dame Catholic Church on Silver Street in Waterville. Visitation for family and friends will be 8:30-10:30 AM prior to the mass on Saturday at Veilleux Funeral Home, 8 Elm Street, Waterville. Interment will be 9:00 AM, Wednesday, October 20th, in Maine Veterans’ Cemetery, Civic Center Drive in Augusta.
