Catherine "Kay" V. Lord Obituary (1916 - 2013)

Concord, N. H. – Catherine “Kay” V. Lord, 96, was taken into the arms of her God late Friday, Jan. 18, 2013. She is now strolling through heaven's fields holding hands with her lifelong love and husband, Joseph K. Lord to whom she was married on this earth for 55 years. She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a devout Catholic and belonged all of her married life to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish where for many years she and her husband Joe were Eucharistic ministers and she resided in Fairfield. Kay was known for her strong faith, her humble, compassionate spirit and connection to the power of the “prayer line”. She was always ready with a hug for anyone who would accept it. Her children never left the house without a hug and “I love you” from Mama. Catherine was born on June 29, 1916, in North Vassalboro, Maine, the daughter of the late Levi and Viola Lemieux and one of thirteen children. She is survived by her five children, Frances Corriveau and spouse Elaine Reall of Northampton, MA, son Daniel Lord, of Concord, N.H., son John Lord of Rochester, N.H. and wife Linda Lord, son Raymond Lord and fiancée Carolyn Hoch-Olsen of Farmingdale, Maine, and daughter Mary Tracy and husband Keith Harris of Benton, Maine. Also, there are six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She is also survived by her two sisters, Elizabeth Perrin of Auburn, and Sister Madeline of Mount Merici in Waterville, Maine; and brother Joseph Lemieux and wife Theresa of Fairfield, Maine. Visiting hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, January 25 at Lawry Brothers Funeral Home, 107 Main St., Fairfield, Maine. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 26 at St. John Church, 26 Monument St., Winslow, Maine. Spring burial will be at Maplewood Cemetery, Fairfield, Maine.
