Cathryn C. Kittredge Obituary (1921 - 2014)

WATERVILLE, MAINE—Cathryn C. Kittredge, 92, passed away on Friday, May 23, 2014, at Woodlands Residential Care in Waterville, Maine. She was born on her parent’s farm in Benton, Maine on August 8, 1921. She and her sister, Carolyn, were the first set of twins to graduate from Lawrence High School in Fairfield, Maine, class of 1939. She enjoyed playing the saxophone in the band and loved to go to the dances at the Benton Grange. Cathryn was a beautician in Fairfield, Maine where she met her husband, Mahlon. She enjoyed reading, watching old movies, and making Nana cookies. Most of all she loved spending time with her family. She was predeceased by her parents, Sidney and Edna Bell; her husband, Mahlon Kittredge; her sister, Shirley and her husband, Ken Gordon; her brother, Glendon; her twin sister, Carolyn and her husband, Ernest Richards; her brother, Marshall Bell; her sister-in-law, Barbara and her husband, Sam Baker; and her special son-in-law, John T. Story. Cathryn is survived by her four loving daughters, Colleen Story, Kathleen and her husband, Paul Drouin, Kimberly and her husband, Daniel Quirion, and Gayla and her husband, Michael Cassidy; her seven grandchildren, Shelley Foster, Mariann and her husband, Robert Willey, Angela and her husband, Josh Andrade, Amie and her husband, Muneer Hasham, Nathan and his wife, Nicole Quirion, Matthew Cassidy, and Mariah Cassidy; her nine great-grandchildren, Courtney, Tyler John, Maddison, Emily, Shelby, Caitlyn, Savannah, Malik, and Dean; her sister-in-law, Joyce and her husband, Andrew Baillargeon; her sister-in-law, Gene Bell; and her nieces and nephews, Brian O’Connor, Ryan O’Connor, Laurie Locke, Karen Bell, Patricia Slattery, and Laurie Fenlasen. A time of visiting will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. with a funeral service to begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 21 at Lawry Brothers Funeral Home, 107 Main St., Fairfield, Maine. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Fairfield, Maine. The family would like to thank the staff at Woodlands for their loving care, and to the ladies from Health Reach Hospice.
