WATERVILLE, MAINE--Dean A. Poulin, 54, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 26, 2011. Dean was born in Waterville, Maine on August 26, 1957, the son of Ronald G. Poulin and Greta "Mim" Thibodeau. He attended Lawrence High School, graduating in 1976. Following graduation, he enlisted in the Navy and served four years. He was formally employed by Transco in Augusta, Maine until he became disabled. Being a family man didn't stop in the home. He had an open door policy, and would lend a hand to anyone in need, growing a special bond in the process. His cousins and friends were all treated like brothers and sisters, with a connection that will truly be missed, but never far from their hearts. With a constant smile on his face and words at the ready, Dean always had something to say. Whether it was about a simple situation or a complex matter, he always knew how to make someone smile. His infectious personality made him well loved throughout his life, and in doing so, created life-long friendships and relationships along the way. Saying Dean was well loved would be an understatement, but the truth nonetheless. He influenced many lives and touched a lot of hearts in the process. Acting as a father figure to many young people, Dean knew just what to say or do. He had a laid back demeanor, making him easy to relate to and get along with. Dean had a passion for the outdoors, whether it was hunting, fishing, moose calling, or just going "upta" camp with his family and friends. He enjoyed the company of others and would talk about anything and everything to whoever would listen. Knowing how to enjoy the simple things in life, Dean has touched many lives and created many friendships that will not soon be forgotten. He was predeceased by his mother, Greta "Mim" Thibodeau; and his stepfather, Joseph Armand "Pip" Thibodeau. Dean is survived by his wife, Laurie Pelletier Poulin; his daughters, Kate and Meg Poulin; a special young lady that was like a daughter to him, Sylvia Paradis-Reynolds; his loving dog, Tootsie Roll; his father, Ronald G. Poulin and his companion, Ruth Letourneau; his in-laws, Lomer Pelletier and his life partner, Rose Chase; his brothers, Gary Poulin and his wife, Jean, Peter Poulin, and Gary Chamberlain and his wife, Patricia; his sisters, Dennise Boudreau and her husband, Neal, and Liz Perry and her husband, Steve; nieces and nephews, Danny, Amy, Caleb, and Jonah Roy, Jennifer, Bruce, Matthew, and Hannah Hallee, Seth, Jessica, and Jacob Poulin, Joshua and Creed Boudreau, Jeremy, Shannon, Clinton, and Tristan Boudreau, Dannielle and Alexis Perry, Ryan Chase, Peter and Debbie Pelletier, Janis, Todd, Lindsey, and Seth Noel, Danylle, Quenten, Olyvia, Kelley, and Erica Veilleux, Joshua, Jacob, and Alexis Dyer, Derrick Dyer, Mel Adams, Amanda Carlow and her companion, Rob Paine, Chris Carlow and his wife, Sayaka, Amanda, Nathan, and Trinity Pooler, and Jared, Tayla, and Haley Clark; brothers and sisters-in-law, Pete and Patsy Pelletier, Ronny and Carol Jean Pelletier, Lyla and Skeet Carlow, Lindy Pelletier, and Vikki Mitchell; very special and dear to his heart relatives and friends, Steve and Jeannine Poulin, Phil Poulin, Chester and Nat Poulin, Eric Lacroix and his companion, Jean Pomerleau, Kelly Pooler, Debba Clark, Van and Leslie Clark, and many more relatives and friends. Visiting hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, December 2 at Lawry Brothers Funeral Home, 107 Main Street, Fairfield, Maine. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 3 at Notre Dame Catholic Church, 116 Silver Street, Waterville, Maine. Burial will take place at a later date.
