.Waterville—Faylene Hope Charland, 88, died February 15, 2010 at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Waterville with her family at her side. She was born in Waterville October 4, 1921 the daughter of William and Lena Vashon.

Faylene was a devoted mother and grandmother who was the official baby rocker in the family. She was very involved in her church, a member of Corpus Christi Parish attending Notre Dame Church. She spent all of her life creating a loving home in which to care for her family.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Emile Charland and a sister Jeanette Vashon.

Surviving are six children, David Charland and his wife Sally of Mesa, AZ; James “Jimmy” Charland and his wife Weng of Cleveland, TX; Nancy Charland of Waterville; Richard Charland and his wife Nancy of Claremont, CA; Daniel Charland and his wife Cynthia of Cornish, NH and Donna Charland of Waterville; a sister Bernice Hebert of Winslow. Eight grandchildren, Brian, Michael, Christopher, Jennifer, Rebecca, Paul, Nathaniel and Ashley; four great-grandchildren and special cousins, Leslie and Faith Ames of South China and John and Donna LaFleur of Sebago, as well as many Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.

Visiting hours will be held 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Thursday, February 18, 2010 at Veilleux Funeral Home, 8 Elm Street, Waterville. A funeral mass will be celebrated 10:30 AM Friday, February 19, 2010 at Notre Dame Catholic Church, Silver Street, Waterville with Father Dan Baillargeon celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, Grove Street, Waterville.
