Hendersonville, NC--Harold “Hal” Joseph Erkson, 45, of Hendersonville NC, went to be with the lord on December 7, 2012. Hal was born in Bristol, CT, March 23, 1965 to John S. Erkson and Louise Hammeren.

Hal was raised in Hinckley, ME, where he attended Benton Elementary and Lawrence High School where he played many sports; but football bas his favorite from peewee, to popwarner, to high school.

After graduation, Hall attended Kennebec Valley Technical College and earned a certificate in the American Welding Society in 1987. While going to school, he was employed by Wyman and Simpson. Later he went to Bath Iron Works as a welder.

In 1998-2001, Hal got the job of his dreams working with Leicht Race Cars in Arden NC, where he built race cars to NASCAR specifications. There he exploded with many ideas. Due to health problems caused by fumes, he had to explore a new type of work. He went to work for Scott Kruger Incorporated of Ashville, NC as a construction worker building houses, etc. Hal worked his way to crew supervisor, which included reading blueprints and filing all necessary paperwork for the jobs. Scott Kruger sold his business. Hal left Krugar and worked for David Dennie from December 2008 to 2011 in construction. After that he left David to take care for his girlfriend Connie until the time of his death.

Hal is survived by his son Zachary J. Erkson of Anson; a daughter Lacey Mae Erkson of North Anson; a precious granddaughter Torrie Lynne Erkson of Skowhegan; sister Holly Ann Pelletier of New Gloucester, ME; niece Kimberly and Steven Whittemore; nephew Joshua Allen of Chelsea; great niece Daphney Rose “doodle bug” Allen; great nephew Clayton “Bub” Allen all of Vassalboro; his aunt “Ce Ce” Marin from Clinton and aunt Jacqueline Dorko also of Clinton; Aunt Claire Ludlom from CT; his father John S. Erkson of Waterville, his mother Louise and step-father James R. Hammeren from Vassalboro as well as many, many cousins.

A memorial service will be held 1PM, Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Sacred Heart Church in Waterville.
