AUGUSTA, Maine—Harry A. Tobey Sr., 80, passed away on Friday, July 8, 2016, at MaineGeneral Rehabilitation & Long-Term Care at Gray Birch in Augusta, Maine. He was born in Pittston, Maine on May 11, 1936, the son of the late Charles and Blanche (Smith) Tobey. On January 25, 1958, Harry married the former Roberta McDonald in Albion, Maine. His employment included Statler Tissue Co., Augusta Lumber Co., and Gardiner Shoe Co. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Roberta in 1988; his son, Ricky A. Tobey; his brother, Raymond Tobey, and his sister, Phyllis Howard. Harry will be sadly missed by his children, Harry A. Tobey Jr. and his wife, Pat of Winslow, Maine, Charles A. Tobey of New Mexico, Julie A. Lewis and her husband, Steve of Albion, Maine, Carl A. Tobey and his wife, Lisa of Brunswick, Maine, and Warren A. Tobey and his wife, Donna of Windsor, Maine; his siblings, Donald Tobey, Laura Emerson, Dale Tobey, Myrtle Brown, Brenda Mullins, Barbara Thomas, Duane Tobey, Debbie, Pam Boucher, and Pat Daniels; his grandchildren, Crystal Stanley, Tiffany Russell, Joshua Lewis, Brad and Adam Tobey, and Melody and Isaac Tobey; four great grandchildren; and his special friend, Dora. A celebration of Harry’s life will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 14 at South Somerville Baptist Church, 15 Hewett Rd, Somerville, Maine. Please bring your favorite pictures and memories to share. A graveside service will be held at 9 a.m. on Friday, July 15 at Pond Cemetery in Unity, Maine.
