WINDSOR, MAINE—Helen Mary (Carr) Moody, of Windsor, Maine passed away peacefully on Friday, April 12, 2013, at Country Manor Nursing Home in Coopers Mills, Maine, from complications of a recent fall. She had been living independently up to that time. She was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts on August 9, 1918, the daughter of the late Harold W. and Mary (Grover) Carr. Helen graduated from Richmond High School and received an education in business from Bates College. She was married for more than 60 years to Norman B. Moody who passed away in 1998. Helen and Norman owned and operated Moody's Garage on Route 17 in Windsor, Maine for over 50 years. She was very active in the Windsor and Jefferson Grange. She was also involved on a Pomona, State and National level. Helen served in several capacities including Past Master in Windsor and was a junior deputy at the state level for several years. She was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening, and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. At the end of many visits with her grandchildren she would say “see you later alligator” while the grandchildren replied “in a while crocodile.” Besides her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by an infant sister; and her brother, Wallace Carr. Helen is survived by her son, Jon N. Moody and his wife, Patricia of Windsor, Maine; her grandchildren, Olin Moody of Windsor, Maine and Breton Moody of North Carolina; her niece, Mary Hinkley and her husband, Clyde of Richmond, Maine; and her nephew, Larry Carr and his wife, Charlene of Bowdoinham, Maine.
