Irene May (Dixon) Raymond Obituary (1919 - 2016)

Clinton, Maine- Irene May (Dixon) Raymond, 97, passed away at Mount St. Joseph’s Nursing Home in Waterville, Maine on November 5, 2016, with her family by her side. Irene who was known as Nana to most people, was born on October 12, 1919, in Clinton. She was the daughter of Manley Sr. and Burnice (Hayes) Dixon. Irene attended the Townhouse Hill one room school house in Clinton, Maine. She was a homemaker with many loves. Irene loved to care for people, her family so very much, family gatherings, cooking, cleaning, sewing, sunshine, and the fall leaves. Irene is predeceased by her parents; her husband Coburn Raymond; daughter Nellie (Raymond) Shores; granddaughter Donna Shores; great granddaughter Jessica Meledy; sister Arlene Cyr; brothers, Harold Dixon, Manley Dixon Jr., Carl Dixon, and Lendell Dixon; son-in-law’s, Gary Charrier and Herbert Shores Sr.; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She is survived by her four children, Ruth Tripp and her husband Howard of Skowhegan, Maine, Manley Raymond of Farmingdale, Maine, Arthur Raymond and his wife Amanda of Florida, and Marie Damon and her husband Paul of Florida; 11 grandchildren, Kim Lawrence, Herbert Shores Jr., Brian Shores, Lori Charrier, Lisa LeHay, Arthur Raymond, Mark Raymond, Melissa Hartley, Jeff Damon, Greg Damon, and Randy Raymond; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her special dog Squirt. The family would like to thank the Mount St. Joseph’s staff and a special thank you to Paula Roy, Miss Robishaw, and Roberta Hart.
