Janis Janet Hinton Obituary (1931 - 2016)

Fairfield, Maine- Janis Janet Hinton, 84, passed away at her home on August 19, 2016. She was born on December 31, 1931, to the late Clarence and Susie (McKenny) Hinton. Janis was one of 12 children. After graduating from high school, Janis worked many different jobs before becoming a homemaker for her family. After her two children got older Janis became a florist and opened up two flower shops, one in Pittsfield, Maine and one in Newport, Maine. After many years of running her flower shops, Janis eventually sold them and went on to work a few years doing hospice care before her retirement. Janis was predeceased by her parents and six of her siblings. She is survived by her daughter Lisa Tweedie Fowler of Vassalboro, Maine; her son Travis Tweedie and wife Debbie of Rural Retreat, Virginia; five siblings; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 23, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at Riverside Baptist Church, 1 Pishon Ferry Road, Clinton, Maine.
