Vassalboro, ME-Jeanette C. Collins, 77, passed away at Mount St. Joseph Nursing Home in Waterville, ME on Friday, November 27, 2015 after a long battle with cancer, with her family by her side. She was born in Waterville, Maine on December 8, 1937, daughter of Ivan and Lottie (McKechnie) Knox. Jeanette worked at local businesses and factories in her younger years, and for Paul Mushero Builders for much of her later years. She then retired from Solon Manufacturing at the age of 65. She is predeceased by her parents, Ivan and Lottie Knox; step mother Florence (Sirois) Knox; sisters, Arlene Dow and Muriel Gallagher; and son-in-law Jeff Libby Sr. Jeanette is survived by her sisters, Iva (Knox) Cunningham and husband Kenneth of Oakland, ME, and Barbie (Knox) Poulin of Fairfield, ME; daughter Vickie Libby of North Turner, ME; sons, Eugene Collins and wife Amanda of Vassalboro, ME, and Kevin Collins and wife Michele of Fairfield, ME; six grandchildren, Kevin and Wyatt Collins, Trena Martin, Jeff Libby Jr., Ryan Libby, and Erin Smith; eight great-grandchildren, Kasi and Gavin Martin, Kyle and Cody Campbell, Eli and Lizzi Cowles, and Nikolas and Koral Smith. She is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visiting hours will be Tuesday, December 1 from 6 to 8 pm at Lawry Brothers-Wheeler, 26 Church Street, Oakland, ME. A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, December 2 at 10 am, at Lawry-Wheelers. Burial will be at a later date.
