OAKLAND, ME - Jeweline Walker Bonnell, 68, of Oakland, ME, went home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on Nov. 6, 2015. She was surrounded by her loving family and friends. Jeweline was born on July 5, 1947, in Allagash, ME, to Albert and Minnie Walker. She attended school in Allagash, ME and earned a degree at the University of Maine at Fort Kent. She lived in many towns across the state but always considered Allagash, ME her home. Her passion to serve in the community remained with her even in her final days. She volunteered as president of the American Legion Women's Auxillary in Oakland, ME and was a participating member for over 20 years. Her home was open to all. She enjoyed holidays, fishing, cooking, gardening, canning, quilting, baking bread, long talks over coffee, drying a tear, and spending time with her family and friends. Jeweline was a loving wife, mother and friend, who brought love and laughter to all she touched. Jeweline is survived by her husband Scott Bonnell. She leaves behind her beloved children, son Donald Hafford Jr. and wife Donna of Arizona, daughter Julie (Kern) and husband David of Oakland, ME, son Robert Hafford and partner Tasha York of Waterville, ME, daughter Amy Staton of Winslow, ME, daughter Tess (Grous) and husband Matthew of Ellington, Connecticut, and daughter Kim (Ronan) and partner Kathy of Gardiner, ME; her seven grandchildren, Scott O'Leary, Joshua Gluz, Courtney Kern, Kristen Kern, Sean Staton, Addalyn Hafford and Kamden Hafford; and two great-grandchildren. Calling Hours will be held at Wheeler Funeral Home in Oakland, ME on Nov. 11, at 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at the United Baptist Church, 45 Church St., Oakland, on Nov. 12, at 11 a.m. A gathering will be held at the American Legion Post 51, in Oakland, ME, immediately following the Celebration of Life. A second service will be held at the Baptist Church in Allagash, ME, on Nov. 14, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Allagash Baptist Cemetery. A gathering will be held at Sheldon McBreairty's immediately following.
