Loretta Fredette Obituary (1921 - 2016)

Loretta Fredette, 94 Winslow – Loretta B. Fredette, 94, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Lakewood Continuing Care Center. Loretta was born in Van Buren on October 11th, 1921, the daughter of Rose (Clavette) and George Roy. She was a graduate of Waterville High School and married Leo P. Fredette in 1938. Loretta attended St. John’s church and was a member of the choir. Loretta’s hobbies included playing cards, gardening and bird watching in her backyard. She particularly enjoyed camping and fishing with her husband Leo. Loretta was an excellent seamstress and over the years made clothing for many in the family. She is survived by two sisters, Lucille and Bernadette; three children: Frances Hartman of Portsmouth, NH, Randall Fredette and his wife Carmel of Winslow, Harvey Fredette and his wife Carmeline, also of Winslow; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and another great-great grandchild on the way; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Leo Fredette, her son-in-law Peter Hartman; two brothers and five sisters. Loretta has left many with precious memories that we will always carry in our hearts. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, June 2nd, 2016 from 5-7 p.m. at Veilleux Funeral Home, 8 Elm Street, Waterville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 3rd, at 11 a.m. at Notre Dame Catholic Church, 112 Silver Street, Waterville. Burial will follow the service in St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, 78 Grove Street, Waterville.
