Louise Lee (Barker) Cole Obituary (1934 - 2014)

VASSALBORO, MAINE—Louise Lee (Barker) Cole, 79, passed away peacefully at her home, Gables Manor, on Saturday, March 1, 2014. She was born on June 19, 1934, the daughter of Thomas P. and Annie (Turner) Barker. She was raised on the Island in Fairfield, Maine and attended Fairfield schools. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Roger; her brothers, Linwood, Roland, Phillip, Raymond, Eldridge, and LaForest Barker; her sisters, Arlene Cole, and Mildred Wood; her grandson, Steven Cole; and her nephew, Thomas Barker. Louise is survived by her sons, Roger Cole and his wife, Patricia of Canaan, Maine, and Steven Cole of China, Maine; her daughter, Natalie Labbe and her husband, Stephen of Shawmut, Maine; 13 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; her sister, June Woodworth and her husband, Harry of Benton, Maine; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to give many thanks to Gables Manor and Hospice for all the care and comfort they gave to Louise during the last several months. Graveside services will be held later in the spring at Maplewood Cemetery in Fairfield, Maine. Family and friends will be notified when burial arrangements have been made.
