Margarett P. Crosby Obituary (1916 - 2011)

CLINTON, MAINE—Margarett P. Crosby, 95, of Clinton, Maine passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2011, at Lakewood Manor Nursing Home in Waterville, Maine, surrounded by her family. She was born in Benton, Maine on July 30, 1916, the daughter of the late Charles and Bertha (Dunlay) Pooler. Margarett was educated in Benton and Fairfield schools. She was employed by Fairfield Creamery, Harris Bakery, and Hathaway Shirt Co. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Sherwin; her grandson, Steven Crosby; her son-in-law, Glenn Price Sr.; her siblings, George Finnimore, Harold Finnimore, Beryl Finnimore MacGregor, Charles Pooler, and Daniel Pooler. Margarett will be sadly missed by her children, James Crosby and his wife, Joan of Albion, Maine, Janet Price of Canaan, Maine, Lila Watson and her husband, David of Clinton, Maine, and Bentley Crosby and his wife, Gertrude of Winslow, Maine; her grandchildren, Glenn Price Jr., Stacy Darkis, Chris Price, Laurie Dale, Jeffery Crosby, Gregg Price, David Watson II, and Sherwin Price; 14 great grandchildren; her sister-in-law Elaine Pooler of Fairfield, Maine; and several dear nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors. The family would like to thank the caregivers who cared for Margarett at Lakewood Manor and at her home. Visiting hours will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, November 4, at Lawry Brothers Funeral Home, 107 Main Street, Fairfield, Maine. A graveside service will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 5, at Ames Cemetery in Benton, Maine with the Rev. Katherine Russo officiating.
