Farmingdale, Maine-Marian B Honnen, 83, of Farmingdale, Maine, was taken home to our Lord and Savior Friday, August 10, 2012, at MaineGeneral Medical Center, Augusta Campus after a short battle with cancer. She was born in Coopers Mills, Maine on January 29, 1929, the daughter of the late Norman and Helen (Brann) Hopkins. She graduated from Coopers Mills Grammar School and Erskine Academy in South China, Maine. She worked at Sylvania in Waldoboro, Maine and Standish, Maine. She later worked at Sanders Associates in South Portland, Maine while living in Windham, Maine. She enjoyed camping, snowmobiling, crafts, theater, square dancing, the Windsor Fair and spending her winters in Mims, Florida. She will be remembered for her kindness and love of family and friends. Marian is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Frederick Honnen of Farmingdale, Maine; her son Gary Cooper of Augusta, Maine; her sister Linda Jackson of Mims, Florida; sisters-in-law Alice Hopkins of Vassalboro, Maine, and Shirley Hopkins of Mims, Florida; and several nieces and nephews. She will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends. She was predeceased by her a sister Vivian Gilbert; her brothers Sheldon Hopkins, Mahlon Hopkins, Carroll Hopkins and Douglas Hopkins; and her ex husband Carlton Cooper. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, August 13, from 6-8 p.m. at Lawry Brothers Funeral Home-Gray Chapel, 207 Windsor Neck Road, Windsor, Maine. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 14, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with a visiting hour prior to the funeral. Pastor Frank Byron will be officiating. Burial will follow at Coppers Mills Cemetery.
