Phebe Flagg Obituary (1926 - 2011)

Phebe Flagg, 85, of Waterville, Maine died Thursday, August 25, 2011, at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, Maine. She was born in Fort Fairfield, Maine on February 3, 1926, the daughter of the late John A. and Caroline (Simmons) Fraser. She attended Fort Fairfield school system. On April 13, 1956, she married Roy E. Flagg. In her early years she was employed by Colby College as a pastry chef. Later, she became employed by C. F. Hathaway as a seamstress for 31 years, retiring in 1988. She was a member of the Riverside Assembly Church in Fairfield. She enjoyed playing cards, was an avid reader, loved traveling, was an excellent cook, and was noted for her Yellow Eye Beans, and spending time with her family. She was predeceased by her brothers, Orren Fraser, Colby Fraser, John Buster Fraser, and Willard Fraser; and her sister, Cora Clark. She is survived by her husband Roy Flagg of Waterville; her two sisters, Madeline Churchill of Fort Fairfield, and Geneva Doughty of Presque Isle; and many nieces, and nephews. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, August 29, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Lawry Brothers Funeral Home, 107 Main Street, Fairfield, Maine. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Riverside Assembly Church, 32 Water Street, Fairfield, Maine with the Rev. Alton McClamma. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Fairfield, Maine.
