Oakland, ME: Phyllis A. Anicetti, 81, passed away Sunday July 26, 2015 at Maine Medical Center in Portland, ME. She was surrounded by loving family during her peaceful passing. She was born in Oakland, ME on September 6, 1933 the daughter of George and Grace (Wheeler) Rackleff. Phyllis graduated Valedictorian from Erskine Academy in China, ME, attended Farmington Normal Teachers College and earned her Bachelors in Education from the University of Maine at Orono. Phyllis taught at Lisbon High School in Lisbon, ME, Garland Street Junior High School in Bangor, ME and forth grade at the James Bean School in Sidney, ME from 1972 until her retirement in 1995. She was her family’s number one fan for all sporting events of her children and grandchildren, attending games all over New England. She and her husband, Arthur, wintered in Naples, Florida for many years where she enjoyed participating in bocci ball, shuffleboard, mahjong and other outdoor events. Phyllis was an avid reader belonging to many book clubs, including a local teachers book club in Oakland, ME. Phyllis and Arthur truly loved to travel, often enjoying such excursions with their lifelong friends, Darrell and Ann Payson. The ocean was a magical place for her and she was truly at peace when vacationing at Seacastles in Ogunquit, ME. Surviving are her husband Arthur L. Anicetti of Oakland, ME, sons, Rick of Charlotte, NC., Mike and wife Cyndi of Wurtsboro, NY., David and wife Patti of Guatemala City, Guatemala, daughter, Lisa and husband Karl Wrigley of Oakland, ME, sister, Christine and husband, Edmond Bernatchez of Belgrade, ME, and sister Barbara Black and husband Don of Amherst, MA., grandchildren Heath, Jared, Stefan, Brianna, Brittany, Tyler, Patrick, Casey, Joshua, and Justin, great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Anna, Abagail, Kayla, and Kason, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 2 brothers Dick and Stan Rackleff. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Jason LaChance and all the nurses on the Marshall L. and Susan Gibson Wing at Maine Medical Center in Portland. Friends are invited to visit from 6-8 PM on Friday July 31 at Lawry Brothers-Wheeler Funeral Home 26 Church St. Oakland, ME. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday August 1 at the Lewis Cemetery, Cottle Road, Oakland, ME.
