Obituary

Waterville – Roland E. Normandeau, 91, of Winslow passed away with his loving wife by his side on Sunday January 20, 2013 at Oak Grove Center.

Roland was born July 6, 1921 in Rumford, Maine, a son of the late Arthur and Josephine (Belliveau) Normandeau. Roland was educated in local schools graduating from Stevens High School in 1938. He then went to Assumption College and was ordained a Catholic Priest on May 31, 1947. Roland served the Catholic Community throughout the state for many years. Roland became a monsignor on November 30, 1971.

Roland was laisied on October 30, 1976. He then met Jeanne Talbot whom he married. Together they lived at her farm in Westbrook where he enjoyed the horses and being outdoors. Roland was still very involved in his community working for P.R.O.P in Westbrook for 12 years prior to his retirement. Roland enjoyed Elder Hostel trips with his brother Sylvio, traveling all over the country.

Roland is survived by his wife Jeanne Normandeau, brother H. Sylvio Normandeau, brothers in law; Jim Talbot of Carrabassett Valley, and John Talbot of North Carolina as well as many nieces, nephews, great and great great nieces and nephews. Roland was predeceased by his parents and sister Therese Lutick.

The family would like to thank the staff of Oak Grove Center for their beloved care of Roland over the past year. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 25, 2013 at Notre Dame Catholic Church at 11 Am followed by committal at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery.
