Rusty
Ouellette
Dec 29, 1955 — May 9, 2012
Rusty Allen Ouellette, 56, died Wednesday May 9, 2012 at Maine General Medical Center in Augusta, with his family at his side, after an undeserved battle with cancer. He was born in Augusta on December 29, 1955 the son of Philip Ouellette & Faye (Stratton) Ouellette. Rusty was raised to be a hard worker, like his parents, who taught him the value of a dollar. Rusty lived in Sidney his whole life and attended area schools, where in the 7th grade he met his future wife, Sandra Bezanson of Oakland. They were married on June 29, 1974 and spent 37 wonderful years together. Rusty worked almost every day of his life since he could. And over the years had many jobs including John Earnst Chicken Farm, Bates Mill in Augusta, Town of Sidney Road Crew, Sidney Fire Department volunteer and also owned his own sawmill. But his greatest love and passion was Sidney Towing, which he owned and operated for the past 15 years with his wife alongside him. In the years spent working the tow trucks, Rusty and Sandra were often called the best team around , since their love for the job would always show through. The number of people that they helped, as well as the Fire, Rescue and Police personal made it all worthwhile. Aside from his work, he loved to play in the woods or with his many toys and enjoyed his time spent with his whole family, helping them any way that he could. Showing each one of them that hard work always pays off. Rusty was predeceased by his father Philip Ouellette Sr., brother Mickey Ouellette, sister Darlene O'Clair and niece Angela O'Clair. Surviving are his mother Faye (Stratton) Ouellette, wife Sandra (Bezanson) Ouellette, son Allen Ouellette and wife Melanie, son Nicholas Ouellette, daughter Julie Ouellette and boyfriend Andy Cook, all of Sidney; his special grandchildren Taylor, Camden, Nicholas Jr, Johnny & granddog Shelby. Family and friends are invited to visit at Wheeler Funeral Home, 26 Church Street in Oakland on Sunday May 13 from 7-9 PM. A funeral service will be 11:00 AM on Monday May 14. Burial will follow at the Reynolds Hill Cemetery in Sidney, followed by a celebration of Rusty s life at 3190 Middle Rd, Sidney. In Lieu of flowers, those who wish may make donations, C/O Julie Ouellette, sent to 375 Main Street Waterville, Maine 04330.
