Ruth P. Ricker Obituary (1926 - 2016)

Clinton, Maine-Ruth P. Ricker, 89, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2016, at Inland Hospital in Waterville, Maine. Ruth was born in Oakland, Maine on August 18, 1926, and was the eldest child of Arlie and Harriet (Penny) Philbrick. She attended Waterville, Maine schools and graduated from Waterville High School in 1944. During the war she met and married her husband George Ricker. After they married they moved to Clinton, Maine where Ruth resided until per passing. Ruth was an avid reader and scrabble player. She also loved the horses and horse racing as she spent many days at the track. Ruth was a member of the Standard Bred Breeders Association. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband George; and her niece Linda Douglas Ruth is survived by her dear brother Arlie Philbrick of Oakland, Maine; her beloved sister Ethel Bates of Waterville, Maine; her nieces, Penny Shorette and daughter Stephanie, Pamela Ellis and husband Bill and their daughter Karlie; nephew Rocky Douglas; great nephew John Douglas and his daughter McKayla. There will be no visiting hours or funeral service per Ruth’s request. She will be laid to rest next to her husband George at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Augusta, Maine.
