Shirline J. Dostie Obituary (1930 - 2011)

Shirline J. Shirley Dostie, 80, a Fairfield, Maine resident most of her life, went to join her Lord and Savior and her husband, as she passed away on Monday, July 4, 2011, at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta, Maine. She was born in Fairfield, Maine on November 7, 1930, the daughter of the late Millard and Amelia (Sirois) Elliott. Shirley was a Communicant of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Fairfield, where she also enjoyed singing in the choir for many years. She enjoyed the ocean, shopping, and animals, but the greatest joy in her life was time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Melvin Dostie; her brothers, Eugene Fleming and Richard King; and her sister, Barbara Jackson. Shirley will be sadly missed by her son, Christopher Elliott and his wife, Cheryl of Fairfield; her grandchildren, Joshua and Kayla Elliott; her great grandchild, Jedidia Elliott; her sister in law, Pauline Fleming of Waterville; her nieces and nephews, Cindy Corum of Virginia, Levi Jackson of Sidney, Millard Jackson of Windsor, and Amelia White of Clinton; and many good friends. Visiting hours will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, July 11, 2011 at Lawry Brothers Funeral Home, 107 Main Street, Fairfield, Maine. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Fairfield. Graveside services will follow at 1 p.m., also on Tuesday at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Civic Center Drive, Augusta, Maine.
