Sophyre N. Schultz Obituary (1947 - 2014)

UNITY, MAINE—Sophyre N. Schultz, 66, of Unity, Maine passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 2, 2014. She was born in Dexter, Maine on November 29, 1947, the daughter of the late Oscar Rodney and Doris Glennis (Mailman) Nickerson. Sophyre married John John Schultz and the couple enjoyed many wonderful years together until his passing on June 23, 1996. She spent many years in Connecticut before returning to Maine in 2000. She was employed as a baker at the Homestead Restaurant in Unity, Maine from 2000 through 2006. Sophyre was adept at crocheting and enjoyed reading as well. She is survived by her children, Ricky Plank of Fort Plain, New York and Tina Garvey and her husband, Dale of Columbia, Connecticut; her siblings, Hanley Nickerson and his wife, Lisa of Unity, Maine, Bruce Nickerson of Jackson, Maine, Albert Nickerson and his wife, Denise of Troy, Maine, and Sylvia Brown and her husband, George Jr. of Benton, Maine; her grandchildren, Kendra Gilbert, Michael and Patrick Garvey, and her special granddaughter, Sarah Plank; and several nieces and nephews. Per her wishes there will no public services.
