Obituary

Winslow-Thomas J. Badorek, 64, was called home by his Lord and Savior on July 27,2013. He was born June 20, 1949 in Meriden, CT. He was the only son of the late Dominic and Tessie (Pelka) Badorek.

Tom graduated from the University of Hartford School of Engineering in CT. He loved the challenge of being an engineer and was frequently teased by his family for his long, detailed explanations to questions. He thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of developing new products and especially liked troubleshooting problems no one else could figure out, which he did often throughout his career in both aeronautic and space technology and medical technology.

Tom had many hobbies, all of which involved working with his hands. He could be found making beautiful furniture or cabinets, carving, gardening, baking bread or working around his home on his John Deere tractor. The time he appreciated the most was spent with his family who will miss his amazing hugs and contagious smile. Tom greatly loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and lived his life entirely as an example of Him. He will be greatly missed by so many.

He is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Lorraine (Poirier) Badorek, whom he loved more than anyone on this earth. Their marriage of forty years is a shining example of a godly marriage for so many people. Tom also leaves behind two daughters, Amy Martin and her husband Matt and Elizabeth Hendsbee and her husband Luke; and grandchildren, Nicole (his "Nickels"), Alan, Madeleine, Katharine and Kevin.

2 Corinthians 5:6-8 "So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight. Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord."

All are invited to celebrate Toms life on Friday, August 2nd at 2 PM at Canaan Calvary Church, Route 2, Canaan, Maine.
