Obituary

Waterville- Warren J. Rainey, 92, of Waterville died on June 1, 2013. He was born on January 7, 1921in Waterville, Me., and was educated in New York Schools.

Mr. Rainey had been employed as a journeyman printer and a member of the Graphic Arts International Union.

He was an Army Veteran of World War II, serving with a field artillery battalion in the Pacific Campaign. In addition he was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans.

Mr. Rainey lived and was employed in New Hampshire for many years, but now is in the state of Maine which he loved very much. He was a former member of the First Baptist Church in Waterville.

Fishing on the lakes of New England gave him great enjoyment and was always after the leviathan of the lake. Survivors include 2 daughters; Nancy Bailey of NH, Susan Rainey of OR, a son Alan Rainey of Liberty, and 5 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife and the mother of his children Laurette Rainey, his second wife Lucille Rainey, a son Gary Rainey, and a sister Betty Mills.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, June 9, 2013 at Pine Grove Cemetery in Belgrade at 2pm. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Veilleux Funeral Home 8 Elm St. Waterville, ME 04901. 872-7676. www.veilleuxfuneralhome.com
